| Work Performed: Davey Tree has a plethora. of images, artwork, video, presentations and publications gathered since the 1800s. They needed one place where they could organize all of these valuable and historic assets. EYEMG - Interactive Media Group used its' eyemg.Compose Content Management system to create Davey On Demand, a digital asset library where Davey could store and organize all of their assets. | |||
As users find assets in the Davey On Demand system, they can select to have them 'gathered' into their collection. Their collection can later be downloaded as one zip file, or a CD-ROM containing their collection can be requested from Davey. A special queue was set up to allow Davey representatives to view and download a user's collection so they can write out the CD-ROM version. The CD-ROM version contains a localized HTML page that points to all of the user's collected pieces located on the CD-ROM.
Asset Details
When a user finds an asset of interest, they can look at all available details about that asset - who created it, when it was created, where the hard copy is stored, who the photographer was, whethere there are usage rightes, etc. The user can also select which format of the asset they want to add to their collection (low res, high res, PDF, JPG, etc.)
Search through Artwork and Illustrations
Davey has commissioned artwork and illustrations throughout the company's history. The Davey On Demand asset library will become the new place to digitally secure these resources for future use.
Images and IPTC Data
Davey wanted a way to classify their images. EYEMG was able to store into and retrieve from images IPTC data. This data offers a standardized way to classify images. Administrative tools allow Davey to either add the IPTC data in the eyemg.Compose system, and write it to the images. Or, images that already contain IPTC data can be imported and the IPTC data gets stored for later use by eyemg.Compose and the search tools.
